FAQs

Everything you wanted to know about Nanaimo Dry Grad, including some things you may not have thought to ask!

What is included in my ticket price?

EVERYTHING! All of the activities, food, drink, and games are all included in your ticket price. None of the items at the event are an additional cost, so as long as you paid your ticket fee, you can enjoy any and all of the exciting activities we have planned for you.

I go to school outside of Nanaimo, but My Permanent residence is in Nanaimo. Can I attend?

Absolutely! This event is open to any graduating grade 12 student who lives in the Nanaimo-Ladysmith area. As long as your permanent residence is in that boundary, whether you go to school outside of the district or not does not exclude you from this event.

Do i have to stay at the event all night?

Only if you want to be eligible for prizes! The activities will wrap up about one hour before the event ends, at which point all students will be ushered into the auditorium for the best part of the night: THE PRIZES!

You must be present in the auditorium to claim your prize, so although you are welcome to leave at any point throughout the night, once you have left the premises you may not re-enter the event, and you might be missing out on some cool swag.

What do I bring with me to the event?

Anything you may need to have fun! We will be offering swimming, skating, hockey, and much more.

Typical items that students bring for the event:

- Bathing Suit
- Skates (if you have your own, skates will be available on site)
- Hockey sticks (some will be available to borrow)

As you are not permitted to leave after you have entered the event, we recommend you bring everything into the event with you that you may need.

Is there safe storage at the event?

Yes! All bags need to be checked as students are not permitted to keep bags/backpacks/purses on their person throughout the event.

We have a large Bag Check area where you can store your belongings and come back and grab anything you need during the event.

Our Bag Check area is manned at all times by our volunteers, however; we do not recommend bringing any valuables with you to the event.

I need to take medication. Where do I keep that?

If you require an emergency medication like an Epi-Pen, please feel free to keep that on your person at the event.

For medications that you need to take on an as-needed basis, or if you take medications at a certain time of day, the best option will be to keep them in your bag at bag check and take them from your bag when you need them.

If there are any medications you take that you will need first aid assistance administering, please get in touch with our team beforehand so we can coordinate that with our First Aid Attendants.
