What do I bring with me to the event?
Anything you may need to have fun! We will be offering swimming, skating, hockey, and much more.
Typical items that students bring for the event:
- Bathing Suit
- Skates (if you have your own, skates will be available on site)
- Hockey sticks (some will be available to borrow)
As you are not permitted to leave after you have entered the event, we recommend you bring everything into the event with you that you may need; however, if you forgot your hockey stick/change of clothes in your car, a member of our Security team can escort you to your vehicle, when available.
Is there safe storage at the event?
Yes! All bags need to be checked as students are not permitted to keep bags/backpacks/purses on their person throughout the event.
We have a large Bag Check area where you can store your belongings and come back and grab anything you need during the event.
I need to take medication. Where do I keep that?
If you require an emergency medication like an Epi-Pen, please feel free to keep that on your person at the event.
For medications that you need to take on an as-needed basis, or if you take medications at a certain time of day, the best option will be to keep them in your bag at bag check and take them from your bag when you need them.
If there are any medications you take that you will need first aid assistance administering, please get in touch with our team beforehand so we can coordinate that with our First Aid Attendants.
Why don’t you sell tickets at the door?
We have decided not to offer ticket sales at the door for a few reasons. The main reason is that we need to know our numbers before the day of the event so we can order the correct amount of food, t-shirts and other swag, and ensure we have enough volunteers to make the event a success.
The other reason is that the event is only open to grade 12 students from Nanaimo and Ladysmith, and we need signed waivers for all attendees.
Now that Nanaimo Dry Grad is operating for it’s second year post-COVID, we are confident that students who want to attend the event will have ample time to purchase tickets in advance, and that everyone who wants to attend will have the opportunity to do so.
